Starter

A soft bread recipe that rises well needs exact measurements and a starter. Take roti kasur: to get a soft, fluffy crumb, the dough needs a starter that makes it more tender. The starter calls for 50 ml of water, 5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, half a teaspoon of Fermipan (instant yeast), and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.

Bread Ingredients

For the main dough you will need 250 grams of high-protein flour, 1 egg, 100 ml of warm water, 1 tablespoon of milk powder, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of margarine, and half a teaspoon of salt.

How to Make Soft, Fluffy Roti Kasur

Soft, fluffy roti kasur depends on doing each step properly. Here is how to make it:

Make the Starter

Start with the starter. Combine all the starter ingredients in one bowl, then beat with a mixer until the mixture expands. Set it aside.

Make the Dough

To make the main dough, mix the egg with the margarine, butter, and salt. Beat with the mixer until frothy. Add the starter, then add the flour a little at a time. Slowly add the 100 ml of warm water and the milk powder, and check the dough as you go so it does not turn too runny or end up with too much water. Divide the dough into several portions, shape each one into a ball, and let them rest for 45 minutes until fully risen.

Deflate the dough, then shape the balls again. Fill the dough to taste with chocolate sprinkles, cheese, or jam. Arrange the buns on a pan greased with margarine. For a more fragrant crust, brush the tops with egg yolk or with liquid milk. Let them rest for 15 minutes, and the buns will rise again and stick to one another. Bake for 20 minutes at medium heat. Once the bread is out of the pan and still warm, brush it with margarine.
